RESUME HELP

PROOFPOINT™

Professionally trained and experienced tutors will help CR students with over 20 subjects. In addition they provide assistance with Resume writing and a special writing lab environment called ProofPoint™. The tutors must complete a rigorous certification process which includes testing on subject matter, a final exam, and mock tutoring sessions. In addition they must pass an extensive third-party background check. Because some CR students are minors, tutors must also comply with the Children's Online Protection Act and Children's Internet Protectoin Act. For more information about the tutors, go to the certified experts section of tutor.com.

tutor.com College Center Entry Page

College Center Entry Page

Students are greeted to the College Center on the entry page. You will see the CR logo at the top of the page. This means you are in the right place to receive the FREE tutoring resources. From this page, you select the general subject area for your tutoring session.

Pre-Session Questionnaire

Students complete a brief pre-session questionnaire that the tutor sees before he/she enters the live classroom. Collecting this information first makes sessions effective and efficient. It also allows for the selection of the appropriately qualified tutor. Wait time varies from three to seven minutes. During that time the student may be wanting to prepare their questions or homework papers.

One-on-One Tutoring in the Live Online Classroom

Student and tutor chat, solve problems on a shared whiteboard, review essays on-screen in real time, and share web-based resources. You can upload Word documents, PDFs, PowerPoints, and many other types of files to share with your tutor. Drawing tools with commonly used shapes, drawings and formulas are available that students can drag onto the whiteboard. Students have the option to print, replay, and email the session for review again later.

ProofPoint™ Real-Time Writing Center: Student and tutor collaborate in real time on reports, essays and papers. Tutors help students develop better writing skills with on-the-spot feedback.

Post-Session Survey

Students rate eachsession and provide comments. These anonymous surveys are sent to CR in monthly reports so that the College can make sure that the tutors are meeting student needs. It also helps us track how many sessions are being requested and in which subjects, so that we can enhance our teaching efforts.

Self-Help Skills Center Resources

Searchable by subject and keyword, students can find thousands of worksheets, videos, and sample problems to get help with frequently asked questions. These resources may be links to other places on the web or specific worksheets designed by the tutors in their subject areas.

Through Live Homework Help® the tutor sees only the subject area and the student's questions. The student sees the tutor's first name and last initial. The tutor is not allowed to share personal or identifying information. Because tutors can only see the student's first name and do not have access to any other identifying information, students can feel safe using the service and are free to ask whatever questions they have without being embarrassed.

Tutors will never just give a student the answer! Tutoring works best when targeted to a student’s specific, immediate need. The tutors help students solve the problem at hand, and they’ll work step-by-step to make sure students really understand the material. They will never just give a student the answer, ever.

Live Homework Help® también ofrece ayuda para estudiantes hispanohablantes en los sujetos de matemáticas y ciencias todos los días.
