This course is for people that have no previous art experience but who have always had a desire to express themselves. It is also designed to serve as a refresher course for those who have been away from art for a while. We will look at various drawing materials, styles, and mediums. The concepts explored in this class are the universal building blocks for advanced artwork such as oil, pastel, and watercolor painting - in a relaxed environment. We will explore materials, perspective, composition and a variety of techniques that will help you develop your own unique artwork.
Whether you have aspirations of painting or simply drawing for the relaxation it offers, this course is designed and developed with the student in mind. So bring your project ideas and or just come and enjoy. There will also be lots of suggestions for those whose inspiration needs a little kick-start.
Instructor David Rosen began his drawing career in high school and in workshops, with 6-months in an animation workshop at Hannah Barbara Cartoons. He then moved into college courses in figure drawing, portraiture, and art history - studying Master works in Italy. David maintains a “bottega” or workshop, producing paintings, illustrations, and photographs. Go to www.dilettosbottega.com to learn more about David and his work.
