Health, Safety, Malpractice Insurance and Immunization Requirements

Proof of Immunity

As part of the physical exam, you must have proof of immunity to the following communicable diseases by either immunization or blood titers: MMR – measles, mumps, rubella; PPD – tuberculosis (chest x-ray if positive PPD); DT – diphtheria, tetanus; Varicella – chickenpox; Hepatitis B – (a waiver may be signed for this requirement only). The PPD is an annual requirement that must be documented at the beginning of each academic year.  A chest x-ray for those with previous positive TB tests needs to be repeated every two years or sooner if respiratory symptoms are experienced.
