IDS-2 Special Topics in Humanities
CSU(3 units lecture)
Repeatable to a maximum of three enrollments An exploration of ideas and issues in the field of humanities. The course content is thematic in nature and is organized around a single topic which may vary from year to year. Topics may include conceptions of human nature; political theory; ethical notions; religion; the arts; the impact of science on society; and new attitudes toward home, work and the human community.

IDS-3 Hispanic Cultures and Societies: A Quest for Identity
CSU and UC(3 units lecture)
A survey of Hispanic cultures and societies from the pre-colonial period to the present. This course examines the history, culture, and religious expressions of various Latin American regions and explores the presence of the Latin American peoples in the United States and their contributions to this country.
