Poets & Writers
Faculty Contact: Vinnie Peloso at 476-4565 or vinnie-peloso@redwoods.edu

Each semester, the Eureka campus presents a showcase of original writing by students, faculty, and staff. This district-wide celebration of fine prose and poetry is held in Forum 100 on the main campus. The spring 2010 submissions are currently open and will extend until noon, March 24, 2010.  The reading of the accepted work will be presented on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 6:00 pm in Forum 100.

First place in poetry and in fiction will receive gift certificates of $25 each from our sponsors.

You may submit up to four pieces (poetry, prose, or a combination of the two).  If you’re submitting prose, the page limit is four pages double-spaced (12 pt. type).  Poems, however, may be single spaced if they’re under two pages.  Beyond that, poetry, also, should be double-spaced.

We only accept electronic submissions.

To submit your fiction or prose to Poets & Writers, please save the work .rtf (Rich Text Format) and attach it to your email.  Make sure that the first page of your document contains your name, address, daytime telephone, City/State/Zip, and title(s) of the piece(s) you're submitting.   Also indicate whether you're a student, faculty staff member, or community member.

Do not put your name on any of the pieces you submit.   Send it to vinnie-peloso@redwoods.edu.
