The College of the Redwoods Aquatics Program will be offering a Spring Break Swim Camp for girls and boys 1ST- 6th grades. Camp will take place Monday, April 14th through Friday, April 18th from 12:30-5:30 pm.
Campers who pass a swim test will have access to the diving blocks, diving board and the big pool. All other campers will have access to the shallow pool. Both pools are heated.
Swim noodles, kick boards and other aquatics toys will be provided. Goggles are optional and not provided, but will be available for purchase at camp.
Games such as water basketball, water volleyball, swimming Olympics, canoeing and much more will be taught and played in a fun and educational way so that both beginners and intermediate swimmers have a great opportunity to participate, have fun and be successful.
A healthy snack will be served each day followed by an optional 30 minute art and/or movie session.
Two certified lifeguards will always be on duty!!! |

Camp Director and Staff
The camp is directed by Kara Newman, College of the Redwoods Aquatics Manager and Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Kara Newman is lifeguard and CPR certified through the Red Cross. Kara has three years of elementary school teaching experience as well as seven years of teaching/coaching at the collegiate level. She has a Masters degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in teaching and coaching in addition to a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Her camps have a reputation for being high energy, fun and confidence builders for young children! Kara’s camp staff will consist of three highly qualified adults with life guard certification and a lot of experience working with children.
