Jayson Vossler begins his first season at the helm of the Redwoods Men’s Basketball Program after being an assistant coach on last years GVC Championship squad. That team was the first men’s basketball team to win an outright championship in the history of the school.
Vossler hails from Colusa High School where he was a part of the 1990 Division V state championship team. After High School he went on to play 2 years at Yuba College where he was a team captain and voted 1993 Male Athlete of the Year. Vossler then went on to play 2 years at Chico State University where he was a part of the 1994 NCAC Championship Wildcat squad. After his senior year Vossler was named to the All-West Region Team, and Chico State Male Athlete of the Year for all sports. At Chico, Vossler earned his BS degree in Kinesiology.
Prior to coming to Redwoods, Vossler was an assistant coach for 2 years at College of the Siskiyous, and 5 years at Butte College. During his time as an assistant, Vossler was a part of 8 playoff teams, 5 Golden Valley Conference Champions, 3 trips to the state tournament and 2 teams that held the #1 ranking in the state at some point in the season.
