The College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees recently decided to delay the filling of the permanent vice president position at the Del Norte campus at least through December 2007.
Ray Geary, CR’s dean of Community and Economic Development, has been the acting vice president of the CR Del Norte campus since August 2006. He will continue on in that role through the end of 2007.
“Our branch campuses are very important to the CR district and its mission to provide a quality community college education to everyone who wants to participate,” said CR Acting President Jeff Bobbitt. “Leadership of the Del Norte campus is key. The board is trying to balance the need to be careful of its expenses at this time with the need to have a permanent vice president in place. The trustees are confident that this is a positive move for the CR District and the Del Norte campus at this time.”
