College of the Redwoods ended its 17-game losing streak on Wednesday, beating the Humboldt State Club Team 14-2 in a non-conference game at Eureka.

It was the first win for the Corsairs (0-13 in the Golden Valley Conference and 2-25 overall) since Feb. 9, when they beat Contra Costa 13-3.

Leading the way at the plate for the Corsairs was Jake Hamilton, who went 2-for-2 with four RBIs, three runs and a walk, while Dylan Feierabend was 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run scored.

CR pitcher Zach O’Hanen took the win on the mound, striking out four and walking for in four innings.

For Humboldt, which was held to just one hit by Barry Lowry, the team had six errors in the field and gave up five runs in the third and fifth innings.

The Corsairs play a doubleheader at Siskiyous on Saturday.
