College of the Redwoods recently added two economics classes to its summer schedule at its Eureka Downtown Site.
Macroeconomics (Econ 1) and Microeconomics (Econ-10) will both be taught by Will Ambrosini and will begin on Monday, June 16 and go through Aug. 7. Econ 1 will meet Monday through Thursday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. while Econ 10 will held Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Both classes are three units.
Macroeconomics is an introduction to economic principles, production, consumption, national income, money and banking, organization and business costs.
Microeconomics studies the theory of the firm, types of competition, marginal utility and costs. These topics will deal with applications for government policy such as deregulation, unions, antitrust, public sector microeconomics and international trade.
Economic History of the United States (Econ 20) is also being offered at the CR Eureka Downtown site beginning on Monday, June 16 and going to Aug. 7. The three-unit class meets Monday through Thursday from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Economic History of the U.S. is an examination of the development of the American economy and the application of the economic context in which the American society, culture and political institutions and practices evolved during three basic periods: the agriculture and extractive eras, and the current information era.
