College of the Redwoods football team ended its season on Saturday with a 33-16 road loss to Shasta College in Redding.

With the defeat, CR ended with a 4-6 overall record and a 3-2 mark in the Bay Valley Conference.

The Knights (5-0, 8-2) took the BVC title.

Lyndon Rowells had another excellent game as he ended his sensational career with the Corsairs.

Rowells returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown and rushed for another score.

On the day the tailback rushed 23 times for 140 yards and also caught four passes for 31 yards.

CR gained 183 rushing yards and 103 passing yards for 286 yards of total offense, only seven less than Shasta's total of 293 yards.

”The guys played hard, but we had three opportunities to score in the first half and didn't do it,” said Redwoods head coach Dave Banducci.
