For much of the game, it appeared the College of the Redwoods women's basketball team was in for another disappointment.
But rallying from an 18-point deficit changed the outcome as the Lady Corsairs toppled Golden Valley Conference foe Feather River 76-71 on Thursday.
Paced by Shylo Wantt's 25 points and Amanda Malfatti's 12-point, 12-rebound outing, CR (6-13 overall, 1-2 in conference) posted its first conference win of the season.
”We battled back from a 20-point deficit in the first half and an 18-point deficit in the second half,” said CR head coach Kara Newman.
”It showed resiliency, heart and determination,” she added. “It was an unbelievable win for us.”
