CR hosts annual LVN pinning ceremony Friday

College of the Redwoods will host its annual licensed vocational nursing pinning ceremony Friday, Aug. 11 at 11: 30 a.m. in the CR gymnasium. A reception will follow the ceremony in the Lakeview Room.
Twenty-six students will receive their nursing pin, which commemorates dedication to their nursing education. Following completion of general education requirements, the LVN program can be completed in 12 months.
The difference between the LVN program and RN program is the LVN program is a one-year program and trains students to work with patients who are stable with chronic illnesses. The RN program is a two-year program that teaches students to care for patients who are critically ill.
LVN program students being honored are: Amber Barr, Renee Blanc, Lydia Britschgi, Gregg Cagle, Stacey Clark, Tracy Combs, Sarah Dallman, Bob Euryl, Joel Evers, Anna Garamendi, Christopher Hutchison, Leif Kamrud, Jenifer LaRue, Shawna Lenardo, Elizabeth Martella, Deborah McCanless, Cara Moschetti, Forest Pagliaricci, Heather Ringwald, Derek Rivera, Rick Ross, Alice Seiber, Yamileth Simmons, Lyndsay Smedile, Remie Smith, and Jennifer Wall.
Roberta Farrar is the RN LVN Program Coordinator.
Many of the students have already secured jobs at the following local facilities: St. Luke HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center, SeaView HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center, Eureka HealthCare and Rehabilitation Center and Mad River Community Hospital.
