The College of the Redwoods volleyball team swept visiting Contra Costa 30-18, 30-25, 30-16 to earn its first victory of the young season.
Consistency was the word head coach Marla Gleave stressed after the game.
For example: “Inez Castro-Moore, an outside hitter, had her most consistent match of the season.”
Or: “Great middle play from Camille Hart and Melissa Throssel. We've really been focusing on running our middles, and both of them were their most consistent as far as going up and being ready to hit.”
Now the Corsairs hit the road, looking for, yup, some consistent consistency. They play Mendocino and Skyline at the Butte Crossover.
