CR hosts Career Technical Education Showcase
College of the Redwoods is hosting the second annual Career Technical Education Showcase at the main Eureka campus on Saturday, Nov. 21.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. current students and anyone interested in exploring career technical programs can meet CR faculty and staff and take tours of classrooms and labs. One can explore career options in home construction, drafting, computer-aided design, computer networking, law enforcement, automotive, business, dental assisting, machining, web design, forestry and natural resources, early childhood education, welding, registered nursing, medical assisting and more. Newly added programs include water and wastewater treatment, and paramedic.
There will be information available on programs, financial aid and registering for classes. One can take math and English assessment tests . Prospective students are encouraged to meet Saturday on the second floor of the main Administration Building. Once their areas of interest have been determined, they will be escorted to the program’s lab, workshop or classroom.
