CR students construct ofrenda for Dia de Los Muertos





CR art and psychology students, under the direction of Mary Mallahan, Deanna Herrera-Thomas and Garth Johnson, will construct an ofrenda to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos in the CR Creative Arts Gallery for viewing November 10 to 13. Student work completed this semester in the linked Introduction to Ceramics and Personal Growth and Adjustment courses, as well as Introduction to Art, will be installed on the ofrenda to celebrate healing, death and transformation.



The community is invited on November 9, from noon to 2:30 p.m., to contribute to this collaborative and interactive art installation by placing mementos or photographs of loved ones on the ofrenda to honor those who have passed away. The general public and CR communities are invited to this reception and celebration on Thursday November 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
