CR summer and fall registration happening now!

College of the Redwoods is registering students for summer session and fall 2014 semester classes. For information, go to www.redwoods.edu

For summer, the CR Eureka campus is offering 34 classes starting the week of June 23 or latter. These include art, chemistry, public speaking, English composition, algebra review, political science and elementary Spanish.

There are also 13 online summer classes available beginning the week of June 23 including art appreciation, career planning, and U.S. government and politics.

At the Del Norte Education Center, six classes will begin the week of June 23. They include interpersonal communication (Speech 7), intermediate algebra, introduction to philosophy, and U.S. history through reconstruction.

Fall semester classes through the CR District begin the week of Aug. 25. There will be a full complement of classes for transfer to four-year universities as well as well as career technical education classes and programs.

Classes will be offered on the Eureka main campus, at Arcata, McKinleyville and Eureka high Schools, one business class at Humboldt State, South Fork High, the Del Norte Education Center in Crescent City, the Mendocino Coast Education Center in Fort Bragg and the Klamath-Trinity (KT) Instructional Site in Hoopa.

CR has recently approved 13 Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) programs which are designed to provide a guarantee for students to transfer to one of the California State University schools as a junior.

The CR ADTs include Mathematics, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Studio Art, History, Political Science, Kinesiology, Anthropology, Business Administration, Geology, Physics, English and Sociology. CR’s fees are $46 a unit, the best higher education deal in the country.

For comparison, CR’s tuition and fees for one year total approximately $1,140. Fees and tuition at a California State University cost about $7,100 a year and at the University of California, they are about $30,140.
