CR to hold Registration Fairs for fall semester
McKinleyville, Eureka instructional sites to host
College of the Redwoods will host two Registration Fairs for fall semester classes in August.
The first fair is Thursday, Aug. 6 at the CR McKinleyville Instructional Site, 1520 City Center Rd, from 2-6 p.m., and the second is Tuesday, Aug. 10 at the CR Eureka Downtown Instructional Site, sixth and K streets, from 2-6 p.m.
A team of CR student services professionals will be available to help full or part-time students fill out application and financial aid forms, take assessment tests and receive academic advising to register for classes. Instructors may also be available to speak about the classes they teach and programs in their department.
Fall classes begin Aug. 28. CR offers excellent academic programs to help students transfer to four-year colleges. Also, CR has many vocational programs to help students get a job, such as the North Coast Paramedic Program, the correctional academy for county jail guards and the police academy. Health occupations job training programs include dental assisting, medical assisting, certified nurse assisting, licensed vocational nursing and North Coast Paramedic Program. Other career technical programs include water management and wastewater treatment, solar photovoltaic installation (electrical) solar thermal installation (hot water), welding, construction technology, Historic Preservation and automotive technology.
