CR Del Norte Chorale presents Christmas concert
The College of the Redwoods Del Norte Chorale will be presenting a concert entitled "Christmas is in the Air", December 7 at 7:00 p.m.. The concert will be at the Cornerstone Assembly of God, 1250 Douglas Street, Crescent City. Admission is free, and, in the spirit of the holiday season, donations of canned and/or other non-perishable foods are encouraged. Donations will be given to the Community Assistance Network (CAN).
The College of the Redwoods-DN Chorale is a non-auditioned, newly formed choir this fall semester. Mr. Lindy Rust is the director of this community-based ensemble and is assisted by accompanist Jill Dovre. The choir members come from a wide spectrum of our county. Some are College of the Redwoods students earning credits towards their degrees, but the vast majority are community members looking for a fun and rewarding musical experience!
The Chorale's membership ages range from 14 to well over 80, which gives them a diverse interest in music! Some are students; while others are police officers, shop owners and workers, professionals, city and county employees, retired folks and many others. This group has one purpose in mind…to have fun and to make wonderful music together!
For this Christmas season, the Chorale will present a wide variety of seasonal music. Different styles of music from Europe and America will be presented, which will include beloved traditional Christmas Carols.
