FAIRFIELD -- The College of the Redwoods football team generated 462 yards of offense and survived a last-second scare when it defeated Solano College 28-20 on the road Saturday.

Next Saturday at 1 p.m. the Corsairs (2-0 in BVC, 2-6 overall) and Yuba College (2-0, 4-4) -- the league leaders -- will meet at CR's Community Stadium.

On Saturday, Redwoods used a first-quarter safety and three second-quarter touchdowns to build a 21-8 halftime lead.

The Falcons narrowed the score to 21-14, but CR seemed in control when they turned the ball over on downs at Solano's 20-yard line and just 1:30 left in the game.

But the Falcons quickly marched 80 yards in three plays to tie the score with 1:08 left.

The Corsairs responded, needing just 18 seconds to score the go-head touchdown, but leaving time for the Falcons.

Solano zipped down the field but, with the ball at the Redwoods' eight-yard line, the Falcons ran out of time.

Otis Wiley -- with 22 rushes for 142 yards, and Jourdan Del Biaggio -- with 110 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries -- paced the Corsairs' ground game.

CR wide receiver David Darson caught four passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, and Will Hissong came off the bench to complete 6-of-9 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown.
