CR to hold 2 Board of Trustees meetings, Sept. 13,14

The College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees will hold two public meetings at the CR Mendocino Coast Center (CRMC) Room 112-114 in Fort Bragg on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 13 and 14.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, the CR Trustees will meet at the Fort Bragg campus, 1211 Del Mar Drive, in open session at 9 a.m. to announce the items to be discussed during closed session.

Following the closed session, the board will reconvene to open session at 11:45 a.m.
The main open session on Sunday will begin at 1 p.m. The topics in order to be discussed include:
>> CR Mendocino Coast Multi-Year Trends - 2003 to 2009. These trends include the kinds of class offerings taught at the CRMC over the six-year period; how the number of full-time faculty compare over that period; comparing the number of full-time to part-time faculty; and other enrollment trends.
>> Preliminary Program Assessment including the CRMC student population; what programs the center offers, an analysis of the Center's employees, a look at the Mendocino Coast demographics and economy.
>> The Marine Science Technology Program report including what the enrollment figures look like and what is being done to market the program and attract more students.
>> An Overview of the CRMC by CR Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs Marjorie Carson.
>> The CR 2009-2010 Budget Workshop, presented by CR President Jeff Marsee and Vice President of Administrative Services Ruth Bettenhausen.

The Trustees will also hold a public board meeting on Monday, Sept. 14 in the CRMC room 112-114 beginning at 9 a.m.

The Fort Bragg Community College Advocacy Group will give a report to the board about the information it has gathered since spring 2009.

Other items on the agenda include:
>> The Mendocino Coast Education Center Education Master Plan.
>> The California K-14 Basic Skills Initiative.
>> The Measure Q Bond Project Status.
>> Approval of the final CR 2009-2010 budget.
