Corsairs Soccer Streak Continues

Ian Thompson scored midway through the first half off an assist by Taylor Heston to help the College of the Redwoods men's soccer team defeat Butte College 1-0 Friday.

With the win, the Corsairs continued their unbeaten streak at home, going 3-0-4 in their inaugural season.

”It was a big win for us,” said CR head coach Alan Exley. “It gave us an opportunity to complete an undefeated season at home. I'm proud of the team for their accomplishment.”

CR's record improved to 3-1-3 in league, 4-6-7 overall.

Redwoods needs to win its two final road matches -- next Friday at Feather River and Nov. 10 at Shasta -- to have a shot at the playoffs.
