Hotlines/Places to Go for Help

  • Sexual Assault/Abuse: This site lists resources around the world and a more specific link to information for male survivors.
  • National Coalition Against Domestic Violence: This site has the phone numbers and links to the state coalitions against
    sexual assault.
  • Office On Violence Against Women: This site has the phone numbers, addresses, and links to different organizations in different states. Some of the state coalitions are repeated and it includes other organizations.
  • Community United Against Violence: This site offers a 24 hour, confidential, multilingual crisis line for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ) as well as Hate Violence Survivor and Domestic Violence Survivor projects.  Emergency assistance (hotels, food, and transportation) and free counseling are also available through this site.

  • Kari & Associates: Cyberstalking & Harassment: This site provides information about what to do if you have been a victim of cyberstalking and how to fight cyberstalking.  It also discusses the various forms of cyberstalking.
  • U.S. Department of Justice: National Institute of Justice: Stalking in America:  This research brief delves into the definitions and issues related to stalking.  The research mentioned here stemmed from the National Violence Against Women Survey.  Adobe Acrobat is required to read this article.   • The Antistalking Web Site: This site explores stalker profiles and motivations.  This site also answers important questions about how to tell if your stalker will become violent and about whether or not you should obtain a restraining order.
