CR Del Norte students to be honored at commencement on Friday

Seventy-five students from College of the Redwoods Del Norte Education Center will be honored during commencement exercises at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 13th at the Crescent City Cultural Center, located at 1001 Front Street in Crescent City.

            The commencement speaker will be Mr. R. Barrie Walkley Former United States Ambassador to Guinea from 2001–2004 and to Gabon from 2004–2007.

            Interim CR President/Superintendent Dr. Keith Snow-Flamer and CR Del Norte area Trustee Carol Mathews will present diplomas to graduates.  Mr. Joseph Cypret, who will receive his associate degree, will lead the Pledge of Allegiance. 

            CR Del Norte Education Center Director, Rory Johnson will deliver the opening remarks and introductions.

            The graduates will be introduced by Dr. Phil Freneau, Professor of Philosophy, Sociology and Early Childhood Development, and Mrs. Lynn Durkee, Library Technician/Librarian at Del Norte.

            The Del Norte High School Stage Band will provide musical entertainment during commencement and a reception will follow the graduation ceremony.

            The 58 students who will receive associate degrees are: Angelica Aispuro,  Collien J. Aten, Martha Suzette Avery, Clancey Barrington, Machelle L. Bates, Adriana B. Berber, Rachel Bonfadini, Jennifer J. Buchanan, Courtney Bukoske, Lisa Marie Camarena, Zachary M. Centner, Tasha Dawn Corpening,  Alexandrea Cossairt, Corra Cypret, Joseph Cypret, Sarah Elizabeth Dikes, My-Hanh H. Dills, Jacob Andrew Dudzik, Fidel Duran, Leah Adriana Eakes, Aislin Edalgo, Jeremiah J. Emery, Allyson Farr, Joshua J. Fitch, Haley Micheale Gist, Kimberly C. Hancock, Amber Rae Harrah, Amy Henkell, Cora Lynn Hogan, Jaia Hudson, Lane W. Japp, Lynda Knowles, Morgan Whitney Love, Bernadette Grace Marks, Juliane Marie Teixeira Marques, Kaitlyn Anne Mitchell, Kenneth D.   In addition to the 58 associate degrees, there will be 17 students receiving Certificates of Achievement.
