Aikido is an innovative, dynamic, and noncompetitive self-defense martial art. Aikido is known as “The Non-fighting Martial Art” or “The Art of Nonresistance.” Unlike many of the striking, blocking, or kicking martial arts, Aikido holds the aim not to injure or kill an attacker. Aikido teaches how we may resolve conflict safety and peacefully as possible.Â
Regular practice enhances balance, stamina, coordination, focus, and overall health. The goal of training in Aikido is to master a clam, alert, and confident approach to conflict, along with the development of a courageous and compassionate spirit that allows one to confront the challenges and difficulties of life.Â
Our instructor, Paul Landrum, Ph.D, has over 35 years of training and teaching of martial arts and Aikido. Paul is a 5th Dan (5th degree black belt in Aikido).Â
