                        The American’s with Disabilities Act imposes strict guidelines for physical

access to your business, in some cases down to the quarter inch.  This

workshop will cover the most common problems businesses have when

complying with the ADA.

 

020556   Forklift: Train the Trainer

                        CalOSHA requires forklift operators be trained on initial assignment, every

three years or when an unsafe incident occurs.  Training is composed of

classroom instruction and a driving test. This workshop will enable

owners/managers to conduct training of their own employees.

                        This workshop will cover the basics of Title 22 of the California Code of

Regulations pertaining to hazardous materials and hazardous waste for

small businesses.

 

021920   Managing Universal Waste

                        This workshop will cover those items of waste that are hazardous but have

differing handling and disposal methods than the more traditional hazardous

waste.  Participants will learn what constitutes universal waste.

 

021937   Controlling Workers Compensation Costs

                        This workshop will begin with an examination of a business "Injury and Illness

Prevention Plan," general and business specific safety training, establishing and maintaining a business safety culture, and selecting a preferred medical provider.

 

021942   Business Emergency Preparedness

                        Instructor: B. Connors      Fee: $15        Class Limit: 20

                        Fifteen percent of businesses suffering a disaster never reopen.  This

workshop will focus on emergency preparedness from the two perspectives

of protecting employees as required by CalOSHA and protecting the continuity of the business after an emergency event.

 

021948   Office Ergonomics

                        Instructor: B. Connors      Fee: $15        Class Limit: 20

                        This workshop will present the basics of office ergonomics from seating to

office layout, focusing on posture, force and repetition.  Attendees will learn

how to spot problems and remediate conditions before they become workers compensation claims.

                        Instructors: B. Connors   Fee: $15        Class Limit: 20

                        This workshop will guide your business through the maze of regulations

to determine which apply and which don’t.  CalOSHA has 8,168 Safety

Orders, some orders apply to all employers and others depend on your equipment, materials and processes.
