TRUCK DRIVER TRAINING
Truck Driving: Getting on the Road to Your Future . . .
College of the Redwoods’ Truck Driver Training Program teaches background information, break-in skills, and offers behind-the-wheel training preparation for most trucking jobs. This intensive six-week course has 45 hours of lecture and 45 hours of “behind-the-wheel” instruction. Each student receives 45 additional hours of observation time in the truck.
Upon completion of the course, the instructor will schedule the student’s DMV road test. If students pass the road test, they will recieve their Class A liscense.
To begin College of the Redwoods' Truck Driver Training Program, a student must attend an informational meeting. This is an opportunity to receive an application and information packet about the program. Instructors will give a summary of what to expect from the program. Potential students will also be able to hear about financing plans and possible funding resources for students who are eligible.
All prospective students must attend one evening informational meeting as a prerequisite for the program.

This is an intensive six-week course.
Classes are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm.
There is additional time with the truck arranged with students and the instructors in the mornings, afternoon, and/or weekends.
Truck Driving Refresher Course
Students are eligible to attend refresher if they have attended a truck driving program or have had a CDL previously.
