Does using a computer seem like rocket-science?  Do you need to get comfortable

on computers to train for that new job?  This very basic, hands-on class is designed

to take the fear out of using computers.  Starting with turning the computer on and

off, use of the mouse and keyboard, you will then move into browsing the internet,

setting up and using e-mail, (and more, depending on the progress of the class);

tools you need for safe, confident use of the computer and navigating the internet

for online resources and staying in touch with family and friends.

Students enrolled in computer classes will have free access to the computer labs

at both the Eureka and McKinleyville sites to practice what you learn in class.

Details and handouts will be provided in class.

Space is limited to 15 students – each site
Pre-registration & fee required in advance

Skills II will expand on computer skills learned in Beginning Skills I; topics
to be determined by the needs and interests of the students.  Bring your laptop, notebook or netbook (if you own one) and be prepared to have a good time while learning computer skills.  Taking Beginning Skills I is not a pre-requisite, but students should be familiar with using e-mail (i.e., open, download, save, and send attachments) and accessing the Internet in this class.  Basic knowledge of the keyboard will be most helpful in achieving the full benefit of the Skills II class.

Students enrolled in computer classes will have free access to the computer labs at both the Eureka and McKinleyville sites to practice what you learn in class.   Details will be provided in class.
