  Welcome Welcome to BT112 - Keyboarding Skill Development (Online). BT112 is a one-unit keyboarding class, which requires a minimum 3-hour per week commitment from each student. Students will be working to improve their speed and accuracy at the keyboard. BT112 is a great class to take to brush up on keyboarding skill, which is often a prerequisite for many office technology positions.

  Description
BT112, Keyboarding Skill Development,  is a course designed to help students improve their keyboarding skills as well as develop 10-key keypad speed and accuracy. Specific drills will be taught to correct individual keyboarding deficiencies. Students at any level will be able to continue their development of keyboard control through repetitive typing of specific drills designed to improve both speed and accuracy typing of specific drills designed to improve both
 speed and accuracy. This class will help improve speed and accuracy at the keyboard.

  Availability:
The course syllabus and assignment schedule will be posted on Blackboard the week prior to the beginning of Spring 2008 semester - the information should be available to you by January 15, 2008.   On-Campus
  Requirements:
There are no requirements to attend on-campus meetings. All work will be completed online. You may, however, use the computers in the Computer Lab on the Del Norte campus during open lab hours. Those hours will be posted at the beginning of Spring 2008 semester.

  Requirements:
Ability to touch type 20 words per minute (Students not typing at 20 wpm may wish to enroll in BT111, Keyboarding I or BT110, Microcomputer Keyboarding.)



 

  Computer
  Set-up Skills
Online courses require adequate computer skills. Students must have Internet available and a current email address prior to enrolling in BT112. The required  keyboarding software is accessed through a server in Arizona and is available 24 hours per day.


 

  Online
  Commitment
Students should plan to keyboard a minimum of three hours per week working at the keyboard to improve keyboarding speed and accuracy.

  Getting Started On or before January 22, go to the Blackboard login site at www.redwoods.edu Follow the login instructions given at that site. You will need your Student ID# to access your Blackboard account at College of the Redwoods. Click on the link to BT112 where you will find the Course Syllabus and detailed instructions on how to proceed with your class.
