LVN PROGRAM COMMITTEES

The LVN program committee is comprised of the Health Occupations Director, assistant director, and/or lead faculty, from both campuses.  It meets at least once each semester to provide direction, planning, and coordination in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the LVN program.  In addition, the teaching team for each course meets prior to, at midterm, and at the end of the semester to plan, implement, and evaluate lecture, laboratory, and clinical experiences for the course. LVN faculty and student representatives also participate in the monthly Health Occupations Department meetings.

Specifically, the LVN Program Committee is responsible for the following:

  1. Reviews and revises program philosophy, objectives and course content to be consistent with the growing, changing body of knowledge in the nursing profession.
  2. Reviews, revises, and develops program policies, guidelines, program applications, etc.
  3. Develops/updates clinical experiences to achieve course and program objectives.
  4. Serves as a resource to the individual faculty member to provide a forum for discussing significant student problems and issues requiring evaluation and judgment.
