How do you put a drawing together? We will look at the arrangement of your
compositions, how the elements are placed on the page, and how light, shadow,
tonality and movement affect the work. We will study the drawings and paintings
of artists to see how they resolved their compositions. Bring an 11" x 14" sketch
pad and an 11" x 14" Bristol pad (smooth surface), ebony pencil, Conte crayons,
colored pencils and markers, fine, medium and thick black markers, and other
pencils, pastels, and soft & vine charcoal.

brighten your days and awaken your creative spirit. Join us whether you are
a beginner or already an avid painter. Learn by hands-on practice and instructor
demonstrations. Techniques will include: basic color theory, composition wash,
wet into wet, dry brush, salt, spatter, plastic wrap and more. Bring all watercolor
supplies you may have to the first class. A supply list and discount coupon will

is for you. The basics of shape, line, shading, contour, stump blending, hatching,
composition and proportion will be covered. Use this class as a foundation for
other art and creativity classes. Bring what supplies you have to the first class.

Learn to thread and use your sewing machine. We will sew straight, angled,
and curved seams, and learn essential hand stitches for seams and hems.
This course will give you all the fundamentals you need to "get going sewing"!
Bring your own working sewing machine, or use one of ours. There is a $5 kit

Learn to prepare and lay out a pattern and cut it out of fabric, make patch pockets,
and apply facings. The class project is a butcher-style apron. Upon completion
of this class you will be ready to move on to basic home decor projects or basic
clothing techniques. The apron pattern is available in class for $10.

class continues from Basic Sewing Part 1. Learn techniques such as
setting
sleeves, adding borders and pockets, hemming by hand or machine, and basic fitting.
The class project is a semi-fitted kimono-style robe or pajamas. The robe and pajama
pattern is available in class for $5.
