Construction Technology at College of the Redwoods involves working within the community as a successful bridge between service learning and education. Students participate in projects and events that expand their knowledge and community service opportunities.

Children at the CR Child Development Center travel across campus every year to take wood scraps from the cabinetmaking and woodworking classes, and then create art and wood sculpture back in their own classroom. This is a natural link to material reuse and introducing youth to hands-on education.
