WEEKLY COURSE SCHEDULE:  Week 11 


Extra Credit:

1) Friday, April 11: Poetry reading at Northtown Books, Arcata 7:30pm (Arts Arcata) Jerry Martien, Joanna Reichhold, Iain Macdonald, Therese Fitzmaurice, and Vanessa Pike

2) Poetry Slam: Sun, April 13 from 3-4:30 pm at the Morris Graves Museum of Art in Eureka, 636 F St.  For more information, contact 442-0278 x 201 Rebecca Cacciari.

3) Monday, April 14: Poets on the Plaza w/ guest Leonard Cirino Plaza Grill, Arcata at 7:30pm (sign ups at 7pm)

Remember, all you need to do is go, take some notes on what you liked or not, bring back a program or ticket stub, and write a one-page journal, double-spaced, on what you thought of the event.  The extra credit journal is due at the next class session.  And, yes, there will be other opportunities for extra credit.

Class 10

1) Exchange stories with one another in small groups. 
2) Conferences: these are worth 20 pts. each  (Dave will collect all the work you're turning in at the conference.  Also, remember to have all your graded work, in case something has not been recorded.)

 
Homework 1) Read BBB pp. 110-130, and, as always, mark up the text and come with the book prepare to discuss for our next class.
2) Read the story 2 (draft 1) copies that you received from your small group and write a one paragraph response to each.
3) Read "The Cloak" in your class booklet, p. 94, write a synopsis on a 3 x 5 card, and come prepared to discuss.
    4) If you haven't already completed your revision of your first story, make sure you get that finished for Class 11.
    5) Whatever was missing (that you learned from your grade conference), get it made up and turned in to Dave in Week 12.

Note:   The above assignments and deadlines are subject to change in the event of extenuating circumstances.
