Read the following section in your Bedford Handbook before you start the exercises:

Also, make sure to try out some of the practice problems online with the Hacker website  (Dave’s email is david-holper@redwood.edu for the login). Then go to Punctuation and do all the exercises under Semi Colons.

Practice Problems:

 

1) If you build it, I will come, however, I won't play baseball there.

 

2) Harold had a very funny habit of juggling semi colons in his sleep; because he studied his grammar sheets too much.

 

3) Michelle went to San Francisco, California, Tucson, Arizona, and Bangor, Maine.

 

4) There were many items on the ballot that were confusing, Proposition 105 was one of them.

 

5) I never study grammar in the bathroom, in fact, I rarely study anything there.
