1) Format:

    A) Is it proper MLA format? 
    B) Are the thesis & topic sentences underlined?

2) Does the title illuminate the thesis?

3) Intro paragraph:

    A) Does it have a good hook (QQISA)?
    B) Does it introduce the author (full name) & story title?
    C) Is the thesis arguable?

4) Body paragraphs:

    A) Is there a transition & arguable topic sentence (and does the topic sentence clearly tie to the thesis)?
    B) Is there analysis?
    C) Is there both quoted & paraphrased evidence?
    D) Does the paragraph's evidence support the topic sentence?
    E) If the paragraph is long, does it sum up its key ideas?

5) Conclusion:

    A) Are you reiterating the key points in a fresh way?
    B) Are you sounding conclusive?

6) MLA documentation:

    A) Are there in-text citations for quotes?
    B) Is there a bibliography?
