1) Go over syllabus calendar for the week
2) Go over parallelism quiz.
3) Dave will hand out the portion on the hero's journey that was accidentally left out of the class booklet.
    4) Reading quiz on "A Good Man Is Hard to Find"
    5) Group 4 presents, followed by a discussion of the story.
Homework 1) Read the hero's journey handout.
2) Read "A Worn Path" on p. 412 in your book
3) Journal 4: How does Phoenix Jackson's journey parallel what is described in the hero's journey handout, in particular the stages of the journey?

1) Final drafts returned; revised finals will be due in one week, but do remember that you need to revise based on the corrections and commentary, see a tutor with this revised draft, and then write a new final draft.  All this will be due in the new completed final draft packet.  
2) Late coupon final drafts due.
3) We'll start the Joseph Campbell video.
    4) Journal 4 collected.
Homework 1) Read the Critical Tools articles by Diane Pingatore about "A Worn Path" on pp. 73-80 in your class booklet, as well as "Is Phoenix Jackson's Grandson Really Dead" on pp. 81-83.
2) Read "The Yellow Wallpaper" on p. 290, along with all the secondary source materials through p. 308.
3) Group 5 prepares for presentation at Class 12.
3) Pronoun-antecedent abusers anonymous: Read Section 22 (all of it) on this issue in the Bedford Handbook.  Check out the Bedford website at www.dianahacker.com/bedhandbook  The website has practice quizzes (that it scores for you) for the various areas I'll ask you to study.  If there's something you didn't understand, please bring the specific problem/question to class.
