| 2) Also read "Setting", "New Historicism" and "Stories about Setting" on pp. 68-69 | ||
| 3) Read "Paul's Mistress" by Guy De Maupassant, p. 83 (UL), paying particular attention to the differences in narrative style, point of view, etc., compared to "Happy Endings." | ||
| 4) Journal 2: What is one key difference in the way these stories are told? How does this affect the reader's understanding of the characters, events, etc. Which of these styles do you prefer and why? | ||
