1) Quiz on the two Salman Rushdie stories and the one Joyce Carol Oates' story. 
     2) Collect Journal 9
  3) Discuss three stories
Homework 1) Read the "Six Essential Elements of Drama" and "The Elements of Drama Today" on pp. 1372-1385.
  2) Read "Death of a Salesman" on p. 1852

3) Prepare a 3 x 5 card with questions you have about the play (you might look at some of the "Topics for Critical Thinking" at the end of the play for help.

4) Write Journal 10: How is this play essentially a critique of the American Dream?

5) Print a copy of Dave's story on the class website and read it.  Dave will be reading it aloud in class on Thursday.  You might bring several questions you have about the story and how it was written or what its theme is.  

Class 22

11/6

1) Group 1 will provide us a story on which they will present for Class 24.
2) Dave will read us a contemporary story he's written and published.
Homework As noted above for Class 21.
