| Homework | 1) Read "Gender and Point of View" and "Secrets, Sexuality, and Interpretation" on pp. 124-125 (UL). | |
| 2) Read "I Stand Here Ironing" p. 198 (UL). | ||
| 3) Journal 3: Choose two of the three topics for Critical Thinking on p. 204 (UL) and answer these questions (see Syllabus for journal guidelines). | ||

| Homework | 1) Start Peace Like a River (Book of the Year). There will be a quiz on the first 100 pages of this book at the start of class 6. | |
| 2) For discussion on Monday: write up at least one question about "I Stand Here Ironing" and two questions about Peace Like a River on a 3 x 5 card and bring to class. | ||
| 3) Bring both your UL text and Peace Like a River to class on Monday for our discussion. | ||
