| Homework | 1) Continue reading your 150 pages. You should have finished 250 pages by class 8. We'll have another open book reading quiz (20 pts.) on this reading. | |
| 2) Prepare a 3 x 5 card with two questions about Reuben's hero's journey or some characteristic of Reuben. | ||

| 2) Discussion: Where is Reuben in his hero's journey and how do you see him moving through the stages. What obstacles is he up against? How does he either circumvent them or triumph over them? What are his strengths? His weaknesses? Who are his allies? What does it seem like will be the ultimate challenge he faces? Or is he only a witness to someone else's challenge? | ||
| Homework | 1) Finish the novel by class 9. We'll have one last reading quiz on it (5 pts.) | |
| 2) Journal 6: Did you feel that the ending of the novel fulfilled Reuben's journey or that in some way as a hero he doesn't fulfill his quest? (Thus, is the novel essentially tragic or comic?) How might it have been improved? | ||
