Honors Program
How to Apply
If you are a college student, have a 3.3 GPA or better, and expect more from your education than just a grade, the Honors Program might be for you. UPDATE
September 2007: Applications for the Spring 2008 semester will be available soon. Applications will be available online, and application packets will be available at the Counseling office, the Honors office, or the Library. Please check back in a few weeks. Applications for the following semester’s program are available the seventh week of the semester and are due two weeks before registration begins for continuing students. Requirements include a 3.3 GPA, current transcript, recommendation by two CR instructors, and a 500-word essay. If you are a high school student with a 3.5 GPA, CR’s Honors Program offers you an outstanding education specifically focused on the first two years of your college experience. Studies repeatedly have shown that students who transfer from community colleges to four-year schools do better than students who started at four-year schools. The Honors Program provides a low-cost, high-quality experience for your preliminary work. See your guidance counselor or contact us for an application. The deadline to apply is the first week of May, and you can expect to be notified by the last week of May.
