Transfer Alliance Program
College of the Redwoods negotiates special transfer agreements linking community college honors/scholars' programs to specific universities, large or small, public or private. Students completing our programs then enjoy enhanced transfer consideration at the partner-campus, e.g., guaranteed or priority acceptance, special scholarships, housing priority, and a range of other academic and social benefits such as library privileges even before transfer.

Honors Program

How to Apply

If you are a college student, have a 3.3 GPA or better, and expect more from your education than just a grade, the Honors Program might be for you.

Application forms are available for those students interested in applying for admission to the program. The Fall 2010 application deadline is Tuesday, November 9 and the Spring 2011 application deadline is Tuesday, April 5.   Applications are available online (in the "Forms" section of the site), and application packets will be available at the Counseling office, the Honors Office (located on the second floor of the Creative Arts Building), or the Library.

In general, applications for the following semester’s program are available in the first few weeks of each semester and are typically due in the 9th or 10th week of each semester. Requirements include a 3.3 GPA, current transcript, recommendation by two CR instructors, and a 500-word essay.

If you are a high school student with a 3.5 GPA, CR’s Honors Program offers you an outstanding education specifically focused on the first two years of your college experience. Studies repeatedly have shown that students who transfer from community colleges to four-year schools do better than students who started at four-year schools. The Honors Program provides a low-cost, high-quality experience for your preliminary work. See your guidance counselor or contact us for an application.
