THE LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER at College of the Redwoods is conceived and designed to be a focal point of teaching and learning for our community. When completed, this modern, integrated learning center will enable the college to significantly enhance the learning opportunities it is committed to providing for our citizens of the North Coast. We look forward with great anticipation to the completion of this project and to the enormous benefits it will bring to our community.
The CR LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER will include —
- An expanded LEARNING ASSISTANCE CENTER, which provides testing, tutoring, and computer-aided instruction for students, staff, faculty, and other members of our community.
- An enhanced WRITING CENTER with expanded services and facilities for students wanting assistance with their writing.
- A complete MEDIA SERVICES CENTER including a video collection center, viewing rooms, and an instructional development center.
- A DISTANCE EDUCATION CENTER including a production studio with distribution capability through cable television systems.
- An expanded LIBRARY FACILITY, including enhanced reading and study areas.
FACTS
| FUNDING |
Approximately $14 million will come from the State of California through Proposition 1A funding. The Redwoods Community College District will contribute $500,000 to $750,000. |
| SIZE |
Outside 39,143 square feet, with a four-foot thick cement foundation approximately the size of a football field. Inside 26,416 square feet, which more than doubles the current CR Eureka Library. |

The current upper staff parking lot on the Eureka Campus. |
