ACADEMIC RECOGNITION
The Board values excellence and wishes to instill in students the desire to
do their best in all things. It shall be the policy of the Board, therefore,
to recognize outstanding academic accomplishment.
The Board authorizes recognition of the following achievements:
- Periodic recognition of students who maintain high academic grade point
averages.
- Placement on the President's Honor List after each semester, giving
recognition to students who have met the following criteria:
- Maintained a grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher;
- Completed nine or more graded units in courses numbered 1-199;
- Only courses numbered from 1-199 are used to calculate unit
totals and GPA;
- Any F, D, or I grade in the current semester disqualifies the
student from honor list eligibility; and
- Students on progress probation are excluded.
- Placement on the Vice President's Honor List after each semester,
giving recognition to students who have met the following criteria:
- Maintained a GPA of 3.50 to 3.74;
- Completed nine or more graded units in courses numbered 1-199;
- Only courses numbered from 1-199 are used to calculate unit
totals and GPA;
- Any F, D, or I grade in the current semester disqualifies the
student from honor list eligibility; and
- Students on progress probation are excluded.

- Credit/No Credit grades or units are not counted toward the nine
graded units.
- Recognition upon graduation of students who have maintained high academic
records. Graduating Honors will be given to students who have maintained
a GPA of graded courses as follows:
- Graduating with Honors (GPA between 3.30 and 3.49),
- Graduating with High Honors (GPA between 3.50 and 3.74), or
- Graduating with Highest Honors (GPA 3.75 or higher).
