| COLLEGE OF THE REDWOODS | Board of Trustees Policy No. 822 |
DISTRICT RESPONSE TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
To safeguard life and property, reduce potential damage to facilities, and continue
operations of the District during times of emergency, the District shall create and
maintain an emergency response plan for each location. Each plan shall identify specific
actions and responsibilities to be taken. These plans will be coordinated with the
emergency response plans of the counties and cities where the college operations take
place. In addition, the plans shall include considerations for appropriate handling of
hazardous materials and chemicals.
The Chief Administrative Officer at each operating location shall be responsible for
implementation of the emergency response plan, under the general direction of President.
The District Director of Facilities shall assist to coordinate response efforts.
Our facilities and activities may be occupied by a variety of people of differing ages and
capabilities. These plans will include considerations of emergency protection of these
populations until the time when they can safely leave District facilities.
