ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE PLAN FOR COMMERCIAL DRIVERS
The District will establish, implement, and maintain an effective Alcohol
and Drug Abuse Plan in compliance with the United States Department of Transportation
(DOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) through Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Regulations Part 382 for all employees who perform services requiring the possession of a
commercial driver's license.
This plan will cover the following areas in detail:
1. The name of the person(s) responsible for the plan and for communicating it to affected
employees.
2. District employees covered by the plan.
3. A detailed plan of testing procedures including times and methods.
4. Alcohol and comprehensive list of substances to be tested for and record keeping
procedures.
5. Consequences and sanctions applied to employees who test positive for the alcohol
and/or controlled substances.
