The Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education (ISKME) is an independent, nonprofit educational research think tank that conducts social science research, develops research-based tools and resources, and facilitates community-building with the goal of helping educational institutions increase capacity to collect and share information, apply it to well-defined problems, and support inquiry and continuous improvement directed toward student success and organizational learning. The ISKME website is located at www.iskme.org, and the following articles are recommended reading: The League for Innovation in the Community College. Since 1968, the League has been making a difference in community college education and in the lives of millions of educators and students. The League is an international organization dedicated to catalyzing the community college movement and is specifically committed to improving community colleges through innovation, experimentation, and institutional transformation. The League website includes leadership abstracts, learning abstracts, white papers, and a League Store listing a number of books and articles available for purchase. The Center for Student Success (CSS) was established by the Research and Planning Group for California Community Colleges. The goals are: To enable researchers, practitioners, and policy-makers to identify educational strategies and exemplary practices that promote the success of California community college students; and To provide California community colleges with professional research and evaluation expertise to support the adoption of strategies and practices applicable to real time situations at the college level.

The California Assessment Institute was formed to promote the practice of assessment in higher education in general, and in the California Community Colleges in particular. It is intended to provide quick access to a wide variety of principles, resources, materials, tools, organizations, and points of contacts dealing with assessment in higher education.
