Welcome to Academic Support Center’s website. I am the Acting Director of the ASC and am responsible for the overall operation of the testing and tutoring services at the college. My goal is to meet the needs of the students and help them become independent learners while meeting the mission and goals of the college.
I am originally from India and I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Public Administration from Punjab University, Chandigarh. I have worked at this college since October 2002 and for the past five years I worked as an Assessment Supervisor. Prior to this, I worked for the Humboldt County’s Employment Training Department as a Vocational Counselor.
As you browse through this website, you will find useful information on various tests offered including math and English assessments, GED, and classroom makeup tests. Students with verified disabilities receive accommodations for testing in the ASC. Tutoring services are available to all students at no cost throughout a semester.

Hello, I am the GED examiner for College of the Redwoods. I am a native Californian, having been born and growing up in Los Angeles. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English at the University of California, Santa Barbara and I have worked in administration at several educational institutions, both public and private, over the years. I also worked for a small family business in Southern California for many years until moving to Humboldt County in 2001. I have a grown son and daughter and I enjoy reading, gardening and hiking in my spare time.
Tina Wahlund
Technical Support Specialist
Welcome to College of the Redwoods Academic Support Center. I am Tina Wahlund Technical Support Specialist in the ASC. My duties include overseeing student workers in the administration of testing services, supervision of tutoring services, and handling of any issues that may arise from these services. My goal is to offer students assistance in multiple subject areas through the use of tutoring services and educational handouts. Also, to ensure them a quiet, secure, professional, and friendly environment for testing purposes.
I was born and raised in Humboldt county, attended local schools, including graduating from College of the Redwoods. I have been employed here at C/R in various positions since July 1989. Before coming to the college, I worked as a secretary and office manager for Allied Van Lines for eight years.
We are always open to developing new services that will be useful in encouraging and facilitating the success of our students. Please feel free to contact me for information on services available in the ASC.
