23rd Annual Science Night

General Information

From its humble beginnings 23 years ago, Science Night at the College of the Redwoods has grown into a campus-wide event, stretching from "The Physics of Paintball Painting" in the Creative Arts building, all the way to "Pearly White and Tooth Fairies" in the Applied Science building. Inbetween there are petting zoos and pumpkin patches, "Alice's Adventures with Programming" in the Forum building, and dinner faire for families in the campus Cafeteria.

There are activities for curious scientists of all ages with lots of "hands-on" activities for kids. Come see "Howling Gummy Bears," the "Chemical Magic Show," or watch the kids build "Ancient Calculators," a hands-on activity where the kids get to take their "calculators" home at the end of the night.

Best of all, Moms and Dads don't have to worry about cooking dinner before coming to the campus, because spaghetti, pizza, salad, and other faire are available for purchase in the campus cafeteria. So, come early, enjoy a meal, then get a head start on the crowd (we've had over 1,000 people attend this event in the past).

Important Facts, Times, and Dates

• Science Night takes place on Friday, October 24, on the Eureka campus of College of the Redwoods.
• Activities and Presentations begin at 5pm and the event ends at 9pm.
• Admission is free.
• Parking in the campus parking lots is free.
• In the event of rain, the show goes on. Most events are inside buildings and those that aren't will be moved under shelter. Families might want to bring umbrellas to keep dry when walking between buildings.
