Subordination

1. Write THREE related but separate sentences—for example, The sun crept over the mountaintops .  Its rays brought instant warmth.  The air was cold. 

2. Combine the sentences into one sentence using coordination (i.e. fanboys).

3. Combine the sentences into one sentence using subordination.  Emphasize the idea in the first sentence in your list.

4. Combine the sentences into one sentence using subordination.  Emphasize the idea in the second sentence in your list.

5. Combine the sentences into one sentence using subordination.  Emphasize the idea in the third sentence in your list.

6. Rewrite one of the sentences you wrote above and reposition a subordinate element to the middle of the sentence.
