□ Stasis points and shared grounds
□ Relationship between reasons and thesis statements
□ Acknowledging, accommodating, and refuting opposing points of view
□ Different kinds of examples and their functions
□ The six “moves” of argument
□ Parallelism and eliminating garbled and illogical prose
2. Be prepared to answer questions about the essay “The Warrior Culture.” You should print 2 COPIES of this essay—one to read and annotate, and one to leave blank. You will bring both copies of the essay with you on the day of the exam, and you can consult your annotated copy during the exam as you mark your answers on the blank copy. Your annotations should help you identify the introduction, thesis, and supporting reasons during the exam.
